about
How we work
IAHPM organises its work around questions that benefit from a collective industry response. A clear scope, appropriate expertise and a recorded review process are central to that work.

Identify the question
Members and other stakeholders can raise issues for consideration. A proposal identifies the problem, the affected product areas and markets, and the value of addressing it through the Association. Company-specific commercial matters are directed outside collective discussions.
Agree the work
The responsible body considers relevance, expertise, available resources and potential conflicts. An accepted project has an owner, a remit, a defined output and a review point. Contributors understand what they are being asked to provide and how their contribution will be used.
Develop and review
Technical work distinguishes source material, analysis and recommendations. Reviewers assess the content within their expertise and declare relevant interests. Material differences of interpretation are addressed or recorded rather than obscured by general language.
Approve and publish
The required approval depends on the type of output. A discussion paper, practical resource and formal Association position are clearly identified. A public record includes the information readers need to understand the document's scope, authorship, date and version.
Maintain the record
Owners review material when its sources, assumptions or operating context change. Corrections and superseding publications are linked to the original record. Project closure records what was delivered and any outstanding questions.
Contribute a subject
Explain the issue, the product sector and market involved, and the outcome you believe would be useful. The Secretariat will direct the proposal to the relevant workstream.
