Reporting a manufacturing environmental case study
A structure for explaining an environmental change without losing the product and manufacturing context.

Manufacturing decisions affect material use, resource requirements, packaging and the options available at the end of a product's life. These questions need to be considered alongside quality, safety and the intended use of the product.

The relevant trade-offs differ between a nutritional product, an electronic device and a diagnostic consumable. A change that reduces one environmental burden can affect durability, preservation, contamination control or use. Assessments should explain their boundaries and assumptions.
Environmental descriptions should identify what was assessed and the comparison being made. Case studies should report their context and limitations, including where findings may not transfer to another product or setting.
