Editorial and publication principles
IAHPM publications should make their purpose, basis and status clear. These principles apply to material issued in the Association's name and to the way external resources are presented on its website.
Evidence and interpretation
Sources should be identifiable and suitable for the statement they support. Material distinguishes factual reporting, analysis, recommendations and policy positions. Limitations that affect interpretation belong with the relevant finding.
Review and approval
Technical material is reviewed by people with relevant expertise. Formal Association positions require the designated organisational approval. Review and approval are recorded before release; contributor involvement alone does not constitute endorsement by the Association or by a contributor's employer.
Interests and support
Relevant affiliations, interests and financial or in-kind support are disclosed where they could affect a reader's interpretation. Sponsors do not acquire the right to determine conclusions or conceal material limitations through financial support.
Versions and maintenance
Each publication has an identifiable date and version. A responsible owner assesses changes to sources or context and decides whether the material requires correction, revision or withdrawal. A substantive revision is recorded rather than presented as unchanged historical text.
Corrections
Correction requests should identify the publication, passage and supporting information. Confirmed material errors are corrected with an appropriate record. Readers are directed to a replacement when a publication is superseded.
External material
External resources retain their original attribution. A link is provided for its relevance and does not imply a formal partnership or endorsement. Restrictions imposed by the rights holder continue to apply.
