Describe the handover

Record the sending product, receiving system, transfer method, purpose, expected users and the point at which responsibility changes. Identify the authoritative record when the same information can appear in more than one place.

Failure-state matrix

Agree what happens when a message is duplicated, incomplete, out of sequence, sent under an unknown version or delivered while a service is unavailable. For each state, record detection, user display, retry behaviour, authoritative record, investigation owner and closure evidence.

Version and change

State who publishes a schema change, how recipients assess compatibility, the test environment and data, the effective date and rollback route. A recipient should not have to infer that a familiar field now has a different meaning.

Responsibility and limits

Document access, support, retention and problem-reporting contacts. Privacy, security and regulatory assessments need their own review against the actual data flow. This worksheet is not an interoperability or cybersecurity certification.
