Set the review object
Name the finished product, formulation or stock-keeping unit, batch or version as applicable, and the statement or decision being reviewed. List every ingredient whose form, amount or evidence is material to that question.
Information chain
| Ingredient/product element | Supplier identity and specification | Amount and formulation role | Manufacturing/process record | Finished-product test or specification | Product-information statement | Change owner |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Worked example
A hypothetical product uses ingredient X in a specified chemical form and amount. A supplier change retains the commercial ingredient name but changes a carrier. The review records the old and new specifications, formulation effect, process and stability questions, finished-product acceptance information and any wording that names or quantifies the ingredient.
The example does not claim that the carrier change affects safety or efficacy. It shows which records need a decision.
Evidence link
When published evidence supports a product statement, record the ingredient form, amount, formulation, population and use in the source. Compare each with the finished product. A match on ingredient name alone does not resolve material differences.
Review after change
Identify who receives the supplier notice, who evaluates it, which records are updated and whether existing inventory or product information is affected. Keep the final decision with its date and supporting material.
