Policy position

Membership must be described accurately

IAHPM membership identifies an organisational relationship. It must remain separate from any statement about a product's approval, performance or regulatory status.

IAHPM · 12 October 2026 · Version 1.0

The relationship

Membership belongs to the legal organisation or entities named in the Association record for the stated period. An individual participates as an authorised representative; a subsidiary, brand, distributor or product is not automatically covered.

Accurate statements

A factual text statement can identify the legal organisation and current relationship: “Example Manufacturing AG is a member of the International Association of Health Product Manufacturers (IAHPM).” Use a clearly fictitious or actual authorised name as appropriate; never copy the example name into a real statement.

Statements to avoid

Do not say or imply that IAHPM approved, tested, certified, registered, recommended or endorsed a product, manufacturing site, service or claim. Do not place the Association name next to a product in a way that turns organisational membership into a quality or conformity mark.

Verification and correction

A reader can request verification of a membership statement. An authorised member representative can request correction of the organisational record; suspected misuse can be reported separately.

Publication record

Issued by IAHPM on 12 October 2026. Version 1.0. This position concerns accurate description of the Association relationship; it is not a regulatory classification or product-claims guide.
